System information

STIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE. Seal new or bare surfaces with a thinned first coat of Armstead Trade Undercoat) followed by 1 or 2 coats of Armstead Satin, but on previously painted surfaces in good condition where similar colours are used, 1 coat may be sufficient (NOTE: Whilst leading-edge technology has been used in the development of this product, the nature of solvent-based paints means that they will discolour over time. The rate of discolouration is faster in areas with low natural or UV light. For long lasting whiteness, we recommend the use of water-based formulation such as Armstead Trade Durable Acrylic Eggshell. When applying water-based paints to surfaces previously decorated with a conventional solvent-based paint, very thorough surface preparation will be necessary.
For best colour consistency, purchase sufficient tinted paint for each job including touch-in at one time from the same source.

Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from all defective or poorly adhering material. Thoroughly rub down previously painted surfaces, using ‘wet #atting’ methods where possible, then wipe off with a damp, lint free cloth. Treat knots with an appropriate knotting solution. New or bare surfaces should be primed with an appropriate primer. Note: Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
