Weathershield Satinwood (Readymix)
STIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE. Apply using a clean brush, a good quality brush that is the right size for the job will give the best results. Apply 1 or 2 coats of Dulux Exterior Satinwood. Where a strong colour change is involved, 2 or more coats maybe required. Allow 6 hours between coats. Do not spread the paint too far. Replace the lid firmly on the can and shake to ensure an airtight seal. For best colour consistency, purchase sufficient tinted paint for each job including touch-in at one time from the same source. Newly painted doors and windows should not be (tightly) closed until paint is fully dry. Radiators must be turned off and only painted when cold.
  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
To get the best results with Dulux Exterior Satinwood, make sure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry). Remove all loose and defective paint. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead. Where necessary, wash the surface to remove dirt, grease and powdery or dusty residues. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry. Seal surfaces that remain powdery after thorough preparation with an appropriate plaster sealer. Treat all knots in wood with a knotting solution. Prime bare wood using Dulux Weathershield Exterior Undercoat. Prepare bare metal with 1 coat of Dulux primer for metal. Where necessary, rub down and then wipe off with a damp, lint free cloth to avoid dust. Any surface defects should be filled with the appropriate Polycell Trade polyfilla.
  • 2. After use
